I was brought to Kate's baking experience during the week. I didn't know where I was going as it was a surprise. I arrived with my husband and five year old son and was met at the door by a lady called Kate. At this point I still didn't know what was going on but Kate's apron quickly gave it away and was delighted to be brought into her beautiful house for a baking lesson. We were given the option of gluten free which we decided to take and we had a lovely time baking, making scones and spelt breads while being told about Galway, Kate's coffee shop, the local business' in the area and my little son was delighted to play in her landscaped gardens with Coco, her canine companion. We sat down with tea and coffee and sampled our hard work after they were ready and tucked into some gorgeous homemade jams which went down a treat. We left with a bag of bread fresh from the oven and the car smelt like a devine bakery for the day. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone interested in sampling Irish baking and meeting a truly exceptional baker and conversationalist. I hope we meet Kate again on our travels someday.
